Deloitte Staff Support Revitalization of Camp Glenburn
[Saint John, New Brunswick]– The team at Deloitte Canada has been supporting the YMCA’s Camp Glenburn for years. Sharing their time and talents, the Deloitte team has helped restore the facilities by providing volunteer work at the site. Now the company and staff are continuing their investment to ensure camp will be around for future generations with a $50,000 donation.
“Deloitte is very proud to be playing a role in supporting the YMCA on its revitalization of Camp Glenburn. At Deloitte we have many long standing connections with the Y and specifically Camp Glenburn,” said Jonathan Calabrese, Partner at Deloitte Canada. “In addition to many of our people and their families having attended Camp Glenburn we have also spent two of our annual Impact Days at camp. We painted, cleaned, built decks, helped build stairs and cleared brush. This is a project we feel very strongly about and are honored to be involved with the YMCA and their many other supporters.”
YMCA camping is a long-term investment in our children and our community. For nearly 90 years Camp Glenburn has provided a journey of self-discovery, connections with others and an appreciation for the natural environment to thousands of people from Saint John and around the world. With this donation, Deloitte will name the new and improved Sports Field, where youth will create lasting memories while being active.
“We are so thankful for the support from Deloitte,” said Shilo Boucher, President and CEO at the YMCA of Greater Saint John. “Investing in the revitalization of Camp Glenburn is critical to the future of the camp. In order to continue to impact lives and provide unique experiences, we are completing upgrades and adding a new dining hall that will help the magic of camp continue for the next 90 years.”
Boucher explained that above all, funds raised to support Camp Glenburn are allowing more children and youth to experience camp.
