January 28 | First Aid & CPR Information Session | Please note that the First Aid & CPR information session scheduled for January 28 at the Saint John Free Public Library will only be offered from 10:00am to 11:30am.

January 29 | Early Pool Closure: Please note that both pools will close at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, for regularly scheduled cleaning. They will re-open at 5:30 am on Thursday morning.

Monday: Open Gym/PARE Test | Please note that PARE testing will take place in the Full Gym from 1:00 - 3:00pm every other Monday beginning January 20th. At this time the Gym is reserved for PARE testing only.

    On Wednesday, April 25, YMCA Newcomer Connections invites local employers to learn more about the services we offer to businesses hiring and working with newcomers. Attendees will learn about Cultural Intelligence training, and Atlantic Immigration Pilot settlement services.

  • Red Triangle Award Recipients to be Announced

    Over the past 27 years, the YMCA has recognized many outstanding citizens that have demonstrated a commitment to the community through their leadership and volunteer service. The Red Triangle Award has been presented to 31 individuals and three groups since 1990. The Leader to Watch Award was implemented in 2002 and has been presented to 13 individuals.

    The tradition continues and we are excited to announce the recipients of the 2018 Red Triangle and Leader to Watch Awards this Friday, January 26th at 10:30am at the Saint John Regional Y. Event details will be announced during the Press Conference.

    (Saint John, New Brunswick) – From November 18 – 25, during YMCA Peace Week, the YMCA of Greater Saint John, together with YMCAs across Canada, celebrate the presence of peace in our communities, and reflect on the peace-building work that happens all year both inside and outside the YMCA.

     

  • Rainbows Programs Receives Support from Medavie Health Foundation

    Through its Rainbows program, the YMCA of Greater Saint John provides peer-support
    for children and youth dealing with death, divorce or other painful family transition or
    life-altering crisis in a safe and caring environment. A $5,000 grant is helping the Y
    provide the program free of charge in the region’s school system, making it easily
    accessible. The Foundation also supported Rainbows in 2016 with a $5,000 grant.

    A special highlight of this week is the presentation of YMCA Peace Medals to individuals or groups who, without any special resources, demonstrate a commitment to the values of PEACE through contributions made within their local, national or global community. Peacemakers are recognized for promoting and inspiring Participation, Empathy, Advocacy, Community and Empowerment.

  • Youth and Adult Volleyball Tournaments

    EY, in conjunction with the YMCA, is organizing a beach volleyball tournament for youth ages 11 – 14 years of age. This free event is a part of the Participaction 150 Playlist and is being held on Saturday, July 8th at the Boardwalk Beach Volleyball Courts.

  • YMCA to Celebrate Healthy Kids Day

    On Saturday,  June 3rd the YMCA of Greater Saint John is celebrating Healthy Kids Day by offering families the opportunity to drop by the YMCA for fun activities, free of charge.  Parents are encouraged to bring their families to participate in activities while learning the joys of living a healthy lifestyle, together, as a family.

  • YMCA Raises Record Fundraising Amount

    Saint John, NB—The YMCA of Greater Saint John is thrilled to announce that it broke fundraising records at its annual Red Triangle Award Gala, raising $110,000 from the Saint John community.   Funds raised will support of the YMCA’s Strong Kids campaign, which ensures everyone has access to Y programs.

  • YMCA Annual General Meeting

    The YMCA of Greater Saint John will be hosting the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Y. The meeting will start promptly at 11:30 am and light refreshments will follow.
