POSITION OVERVIEW

The Pickleball Leader will work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers to develop and deliver Pickleball programming designed to cater to the physical, mental and social health of local youth. The Pickleball leader will engage and supervise those participating in YMCA Youth and Sports Programming. You will ensure an enjoyable, safe and inclusive environment for youth and family participants of various skills and abilities. In order to meet our members’ needs, the position with require flexibility to work day, evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications and Skills:

 Basic knowledge of the game of Pickleball.  Current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector screening and Department of Social Development Record Check required.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and tear down of gym equipment and assist in keeping program and storage areas safe and organized.
  • Use respectable language at all times.
  • Be well groomed and dressed appropriately in clothing that is fitting for the positions and that will leave the best possible impression on the public.
  • Accept the guidance and decisions from the Supervisor/Director as well as reporting planned or unplanned absence to the Supervisor/Director
  • Treat staff, clients and other volunteers of the YMCA of Greater Saint John with respect and dignity and be responsible in the use of the YMCA of Greater Saint John’s resources 
  • Perform Volunteer responsibilities promptly, reliably and to the best of the Volunteer’s ability
  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the YMCA of Greater Saint John
  • To accept and work within the YMCA of Greater Saint John’s Guiding Principles, the  Mission Statement as well as the Values of the YMCA of Greater Saint John
  • To appropriately display YMCA of Greater Saint John Volunteer identification  as required
  • Participate in orientation and training programs when required
