When I came to Canada three years ago, I wasn’t able to speak English. There were many volunteers helping with translation and catering at the hotel we came to. From that moment, I began to appreciate the great work of translators.
Since then I have studied hard to be able to communicate with people in English. When I felt that I was ready to help, I started working as a volunteer at the YMCA and I volunteered in many different places.
I know at this point in my life I would better off taking a job that pays money, but the happiness of people and seeing someone happy makes me much happier than having a lot money. A human is rich by what he gives not by what he gets.
I would like to thank all staff at the YMCA, all volunteers and all teachers. I’m so happy to be here and I hope to give more to this great community and city.
