SSELT: Housekeeping and Janitorial Work In this program, you will learn essential language training surround cleaning, maintenance and safety. You will also learn how to apply for jobs in this trade, what is it like working in Canada, and essential job interview skills.   Contingent on the Government of New Brunswick's COVID-19 Recovery Plan, classes will be held in person in the Yellow Phase and online in both the Orange and  Red Phases. SSELT: Sales and Retail In this program, we will learn essential retail communication skills such as language surrounding using cash registers, customer-first focus, and closing a sale. We will also learn how to apply for jobs in this trade, what is it like working in Canada, and essential job interview skills.   Contingent on the Government of New Brunswick's COVID-19 Recovery Plan, classes will be held in person in the Yellow Phase and online in both the Orange and  Red Phases. Orange and Red Phase virtual delivery hours: 9:00 A.M - 12:30 P.M Yellow Phase in-person delivery: 9:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. CLB 4+ is required. The registration deadline is February  26. Homework Club

If you're in grade 9-12 and are struggling with a school subject, the Newcomer Connections Youth Team is here to help! We are offering tutoring online for high school students who need help with homework. This program will run every Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. To help match tutors and students accordingly, registration is mandatory.

Pathway to Construction and Concrete

Join us for an information session that will teach you about career opportunities in construction, through Newcomer Connections programming. These sessions will either be on Construction and Roofing OR Construction and Concrete. Registration is mandatory. Deadline to register is January 4th.

Becoming a Market Vendor and Food Safety Training

Becoming a Market Vendor and Food Safety Training This two week program combines language for food safety, customer service and information on how to begin the process of being a vendor in a market setting. During the program, participants will write a food safety certification exam and learn more valuable information on products they can sell as well as the locations in which they can sell them. Community Connections Fair

Community Connections Fair The Community Connections Fair (CCF) is an annual event meant to give newcomers and local organizations alike the chance to connect and find ways to help one another. This year, the event will be held on a new and highly interactive virtual platform called Remo. Please save the date for April 28th, from 11:00AM- 1:30PM. The CCF is a great way for newcomers to get connected with programs and services of interest, in a space that is accessible and engaging. Clients with limited CLB levels and tech literacy have the option to join through a safe in-class experience that offers an equally captivating learning opportunity. The CCF provides newcomers with a variety of tools to help them navigate their day-to-day activities. This includes language training, tax clinics, education, employment and volunteer opportunities, etc. Newcomers bring vast knowledge, skills, and a wide range of experience in many fields and sectors. The CCF is a great way for organizations to connect with newcomers and gain insight on the role they play in helping the community. This includes but is not limited to: bringing new projects to the area, volunteering, bringing in new opportunities, challenging the status quo, and building a healthy & inclusive community. SSELT: Community Interpretation In this full-time program, learn essential skills you will take with you on your way to becoming a community interpreter. In this full-time program, learn essential language skills relating to the field of health care and providing home support for members of our community.  This informative program includes a 3-day training on First Aid, CPR, and WHIMS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
